Unfortunately, another delay :(

Well Ross has had some more excitement this week. 5 days in Sunnybrook hospital!! He has been diagnosed with diverticular disease and it unfortunately means the TAVI procedure has been postponed again.

In his own words, "my hemoglobin dropped more than the stock market crash of 1929!" His levels were 145 three weeks ago but had dropped to 130 when he arrived in emergency on Wednesday February 5th and down to the lowest level of 75 after his colonoscopy. Needless to say, that meant no going home until his hemoglobin levels were a minimum of 82.

After two blood transfusions and an iron infusion, finally his levels sneaked back up to 83 this morning & he was sent home.

Next steps are a follow back up at Sunnybrook on Friday for more blood work and will see the cardiac surgeon on March 24th. We won't really know anything more until then.

Fingers crossed we have no more "incidents"!!
